Building Manager – Trophy Development, Manchester
A leading specialist property company has secured a prestigious new instruction on one of Manchester’s trophy developments and is now seeking an exceptional Building Manager to join their growing team.
This is a great opportunity to manage a trophy asset in the city centre, of Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational excellence of the building, ensuring the highest levels of customer service, safety, and compliance are delivered to both occupiers and clients.
The Role
The Building Manager will be the face of the development, responsible for elevating customer experience, maintaining rigorous health and safety standards, and ensuring seamless service delivery across all on-site operations. They will coordinate and oversee contractors, manage building systems and financial processes, and work in close collaboration with service partners and the wider property management team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire on-site teams, fostering a culture of professionalism and service excellence.
* Manage service delivery including cleaning, M&E, manned security, and project works.
* Act as a Health and Safety champion across the site.
* Maintain and audit all compliance and CAFM systems (e.g. Meridien, RiskWise).
* Oversee front of house, ensuring maximum efficiency.
* Conduct daily inspections and liaise with tenants to ensure outstanding service.
* Manage staffing rosters and resources, including relief cover where required.
* Monitor budgets and process invoices in line with financial procedures.
* Ensure high performance standards across all operational and compliance areas.
The Ideal Candidate
* A confident, solutions-focused professional with experience in managing, multi-let commercial properties.
* Strong technical knowledge of building operations and compliance frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability in stakeholder engagement, with a flair for customer service and attention to detail.
* Proficient in CAFM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
* A proactive, innovative thinker with excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Comfortable working flexibly to meet the needs of a premium property.
