We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our supportive and highly successful department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in our team and contribute to the academic growth of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a particular emphasis on GCSE and A Level PE, especially in Anatomy and Physiology.
The successful candidate will:
1. Teach Physical Education across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, focusing primarily on GCSE and A Level PE.
2. Specialise or have a desire to teach Anatomy and Physiology within the A Level PE curriculum, delivering expert knowledge and practical insights into the human body’s function and its relation to physical activity.
3. Deliver engaging and effective curriculum content that ensures students are well-prepared for their examinations.
4. Inspire and motivate students to achieve their best in both practical and theoretical aspects of PE.
5. Contribute to the ongoing development of the GCSE and A Level PE programs within the department.
6. Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, helping students thrive academically and personally.
7. Lead and develop the Netball extracurricular club, providing students with opportunities to improve their skills, compete, and develop a love for the sport.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality teaching for GCSE and A Level PE, with a particular emphasis on Anatomy and Physiology.
2. Support students in preparing for examinations, with a focus on both theory and practical elements.
3. Contribute ideas to enhance and develop the PE curriculum, especially in areas relating to human biology and physical fitness.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for students.
5. Promote a positive and engaging learning environment within the department.
6. Lead the Netball extracurricular club, organising training sessions, matches, and tournaments to support student engagement and skill development.
The Ideal Candidate:
1. A qualified teacher with experience in delivering GCSE and A Level PE (preferred but not essential).
2. Specialisation or strong knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology at A Level.
3. A genuine passion for Physical Education and teaching.
4. Experience and enthusiasm for leading extracurricular activities, particularly Netball.
5. A commitment to supporting student achievement and academic success.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
