The Elective Admission Lounge (EAL) admits all planned surgery patients on the City Campus, this includes: General Surgery, Colorectal, Thoracic, Breast and Plastics and Gynaecology. The Theatre Admissions Lounge (TAL) admits both inpatients and day-case patients for the Elective Orthopaedic Service. TAL has a dedicated Nurse led discharge service for day case patients.
Both units are staffed from 0645-1700 (1800 for TAL).

Deal with enquiries in person or by telephone in an efficient and polite manner.
To create and patient health record files
To maintain confidentiality of patient information – following the I.G Code at all times.
To locate and retrieve health records from around the Trust.
To organise Interpreting Services as required.
To accurately maintain hospital computer systems.
To organise patients to attend follow-up appointments.
To ensure that the reception area is clean and tidy
