Security Officer / Fulltime

What You Will Do:
Performs officer duties to include, but not limited to:
1. Patrols buildings and grounds for unlocked secured areas for after hour entry.
2. Locks and opens doors according to schedules.
3. Provides individual and group escorts to and from parking areas.
4. Identifies and removes unauthorized individuals from property.
5. Enforces campus parking policies/cite violations.
6. Maintains compliance with Security policies.
7. Pursues and detains persons involved in criminal activity.
8. Fills out incident/offense report forms and composes narratives.
9. Gives directions to areas of facility.
10. Interacts with police, fire personnel, patients, visitors, and staff.
11. Provides vehicle assistance.
12. Patrols interior/perimeter of campus and parking.
13. Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. Reports and escalates situations to the Threat Management team as appropriate.
14. Provides quality customer service to Texas Health employees, visitors, and guests.
15. Greets people with courtesy and respect using the 10/5 rule.
16. Provides directions and assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.
17. Provides general information regarding Texas Health campuses.
18. Provides transport and escorts to and from campus parking lots.
19. Responds timely to calls for service and emergency situations.
20. Assesses the situation and utilizes appropriate de-escalation measures.
21. Utilizes critical thinking skills and provides the appropriate level of force for the situation.
22. Responds to and activates the appropriate emergency response code.
23. Interacts with and provides assistance to Police, Fire, EMS, and other emergency staff as required.
