Vickerstock are working in partnership with a manufacturing firm on the appointment of a Health and Safety Officer.
As the Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Health & Safety policies to ensure compliance with legislation and company standards.
In your new role:
1. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, including manual handling, COSHH, and fire prevention
2. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations, reducing risks and preventing accidents
3. Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
4. Act as the key point of contact for external bodies on Health & Safety matters
5. Participate in monthly meetings, presenting relevant Health & Safety data
6. Identify training needs in collaboration with department managers
7. Develop and implement effective training programmes aligned with company goals
8. Deliver induction and job-specific training for new employees, as well as ongoing training for existing colleagues
9. Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to Health & Safety and training
10. Analyse data to identify trends and areas for improvement
What you will need to succeed:
1. 3+ years' experience within a similar Health & Safety role
2. Relevant Health and Safety qualifications
3. Experience within a manufacturing environment
4. Experience with ISO standards and auditing
5. Experience in coordinating and delivering training
6. Good communication skills
7. IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
1. IOSH Membership
2. NEBOSH Diploma
