We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for an interim role with a local government organisation in Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong public sector experience to contribute to a dynamic team, ensuring financial compliance and supporting key decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and reviewing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts;
Supporting the year-end accounts process, ensuring compliance with local government financial regulations;
Assisting with financial controls, reconciliations, and treasury management;
Providing financial advice to senior management and stakeholders;
Supporting audits and ensuring adherence to financial governance standards.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience in a local government finance role (essential);
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) or qualified by experience;
Strong technical accounting skills, including financial reporting and budget management;
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities;
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
