About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and committed Headteacher to lead our school in its mission to provide high-quality Catholic education. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader who will uphold and strengthen the Catholic identity of the school, inspire a culture of academic excellence, and ensure that the school community thrives. The Headteacher will provide professional leadership and management for the school, working with staff, governors, parents, and the wider community to realise the school’s vision and values. You will lead by example, ensuring that the school’s Catholic ethos permeates all aspects of school life while fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and high expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Catholic Identity and Ethos:
* Uphold and enhance the Catholic mission of the school, ensuring that faith and Gospel values are at the heart of all we do.
* Lead by example in prayer, liturgy, and the overall spiritual life of the school.
Leadership and Vision:
* Work with the Governing Body to create and share a clear vision for the future, underpinned by Catholic values, and lead the school’s strategic planning and improvement initiatives.
* Inspire and motivate all stakeholders to work together towards common goals.
Teaching and Learning:
* Lead the development of an inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils and encourages high standards in teaching and learning.
* Ensure that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and other vulnerabilities, achieve their full potential.
Staff Development and Welfare:
* Foster a professional learning community, supporting staff development through induction, training, and performance management.
* Build a positive, collaborative culture where staff feel valued and supported.
Community Engagement:
* Strengthen the school’s relationships with parents, local parishes, other schools, the Archdiocese, and the wider community.
* Promote the school as a centre of faith, learning, and social responsibility.
Accountability:
* Ensure that high standards of achievement, behaviour, and safety are maintained. Be accountable to the Governing Body, the Archdiocese, and other stakeholders for the school’s performance.
The Successful Candidate Will:
* Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Catholic faith and a strong commitment to Catholic education.
* Possess the leadership skills to inspire and motivate staff, pupils, and the school community.
* Be an outstanding communicator with the ability to engage and build positive relationships with all members of the school community, including governors, parents, and external agencies.
* Have proven experience in school leadership and a track record of improving standards in teaching and learning.
* Be committed to the spiritual and moral development of all children and young people.
* Be strategic in thinking and able to translate vision into practical actions to drive school improvement.
