In the UK, Safran Seats specializes solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide-body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England.
Role Purpose: Develop, implement, and maintain SGB Materials and Processes within the Engineering department, including the associated management of Material and Process specifications.
The role is across the Design and Manufacturing teams with an aim to support design for manufacture and design for cost for SGB products.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for timely release of Engineering data applicable to products, processes, and equipment related to Safran Seats GB and other Seats BU as applicable.
2. Provide the necessary expertise and support to the Design office and wider Engineering team for new product development and existing projects.
3. Support the qualification, equivalency, and audits of special processes.
Complementary Description
Support towards Design, Develop and Industrialisation activities:
1. As Subject Matter Expert on key topics relating to engineering Materials & Processes, support the engineering team by educating them on new materials and processes in accordance with engineering plans and industry standards.
2. Redaction and management of material and process specifications in his/her competency domain.
3. Provide technical support through his/her competency domain, in dealing with material and process non-conformities via appraisal of the parts which have presented a failure in test or in use.
4. Manage the obsolescence issues relating to materials and processes and ensure that alternative M&P commodities are qualified in time to support customer requests.
