Impact Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Field Service Manager to work with a well-established, family-run business. The company began over 20 years ago and is a trusted leader in the materials handling equipment industry.
Position Details:
1. Position: Field Service Manager
2. Location: Brackley
3. Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
4. Contract Type: Full-Time Permanent
5. Pay: £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE)
Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Field Service Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing an efficient and profitable field service operation that can be scaled up as the business grows.
1. Lead and manage the office and field teams to achieve required performance levels. Fully accountable for team performance and all HR responsibilities including hiring and firing.
2. Oversee daily scheduling and invoice operations. Use your experience to coach best practices and promote efficient operations.
3. Be the main point of contact for customer technical support, diagnosing, documenting, and resolving issues. Work with lead engineers and suppliers for technical support.
4. Spend routine scheduled time in the field to assist engineers and build strong relationships. Provide occasional emergency cover when necessary.
5. Monitor spares availability for engineers and manage their van stock to maximize first fix rates.
6. Promote the company’s service offering at every opportunity and work with engineers to encourage and incentivize them to do the same.
7. Take ownership of customer relationships and customer satisfaction with our service offering.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Ideally have a qualification in an electrical and mechanical field.
2. MUST have previous experience as a Field Service Engineer.
3. MUST have managed a team of engineers, at least at a supervisor level.
4. MUST have a proven ability to meet goals - with a demonstrable record of achievement in field service metrics.
5. Evidence of relevant education and training.
6. Electrical and Mechanical product knowledge.
7. Proficiency in effective communication, both with your team and customers.
8. Full UK driving license.
