We are looking for therapists to join our expanding Therapeutic Team to cover our schools in Croydon.
Horizon Care & Education are looking for a creative Occupational Therapist to join our passionate team, delivering a comprehensive therapeutic service for children in our care. This role involves providing support and oversight to teams in education.
This role will be based from the nearest school in your region with an expectation to regularly travel to other sites in your portfolio in accordance with service need. You will conduct assessment and intervention, provide support to teams and be an active part of the wider MDT.
Delivery of training is an important aspect of the role. At Horizon we train all our staff in our Shine Therapeutic model which includes DDP/PACE therapeutic parenting.
What you'll get to do:
* Manage your own caseload of schools to provide high levels of support and consultation for operational colleagues.
* Provide therapeutic advice and guidance to teams to enable them to support young people throughout their journey with Horizon.
* Be responsible for assessments, goal setting and recommendations for therapeutic support for your own caseload.
* Develop, write and regularly review/update therapeutic goals for children and young people in education.
* Develop and contribute to the delivery of therapeutic and psychological training to all staff in the organisation as part of the Therapeutic Academy.
* Benefit from regular supervision and CPD activities.
* Participate in service development activities across the Horizon Group.
What we're looking for from you:
* HCPC registered.
* BSc/MSc registered Occupational Therapist.
* Experience of working with Children and Young People or relevant demonstrable transferable skills.
* We will accept nearly qualified candidates.
* Post registration qualifications in sensory integration would be advantageous.
* A desire to support services through embedding therapeutic practice.
* Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
* Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
* Ability to work autonomously with support from individual and peer supervision.
* Ability to role model behaviours and attitudes in line with organisational values.
* A sound understanding of Microsoft Office components, including knowledge of Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
* Full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle.
