Job Summary – What To Expect
As the Production Engineer for Distribution Operations, you will provide technical expertise, process, production, and project support to Delta Park Operations. Your primary responsibilities will include organizing and executing validation and verification activities in line with medical device regulatory requirements, appraising, specifying, and developing automated systems and production processes for contact lens operations, and leading and participating in multi-disciplinary teams engaged in these activities.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities
* Provide technical expertise, process, production and project engineering support to Operations departments to satisfy business objectives.
* Typically functioning as a leader in small problem-solving teams.
* Likely to be working on some international activities, across the business and participating in technical forum activities occasionally.
* Appraise, specify, develop, commission, validate and test new and existing production automated systems and equipment.
* Conduct equipment & process: safety compliance assessments, appraisals, capability studies and validation/verifications programmes in accordance with medical device regulatory requirements.
* Implement process improvements, including optimisation of productivity, yield and quality, in line with change control requirements.
* Timely reporting against objectives, including: design/milestone reviews, presentations, monthly reports and key performance indicator monitoring.
* Initiate Improvement activities, providing detailed commercial benefits.
Travel Requirements
May be required to travel to and work at global sites for short periods of time however would be given ample notice period if this was required.

We are looking for candidates who possess a high level of numeric, literate, verbal, engineering reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. Strong organisation and planning skills are essential, along with proficiency in IT. Enthusiasm and flexibility are key, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience & Education
Desired
* An engineering apprenticeship e.g. in one of mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering.
* Bachelor / HNC / HND in Engineering or Science
* Trouble shooting fault diagnosis on automated machinery.
* Working knowledge of carton lasers, thermal printer and labelling equipment.
* Vision system inspection / barcode readers knowledge.
* Experience of working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
* High speed process engineering and optimisation experience.
* Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring processes and products.
* Proven experience of Lean Manufacturing.
* An understanding of cGMP and Process Validation.
* Project Management Experience
* Professional Institute associate member level or equivalent.
