The Government Digital Service (GDS) is part of the Cabinet Office. We work at the very centre of government to make user-focused digital transformation happen. This role will focus on leading the delivery of the financial and budget management processes for a new GDS product, GOV.UK One Login.
GOV.UK One Login is a government major projects portfolio programme, you will be part of a programme delivering a simple, safe and secure way for users to log in and prove who they are in order to access all government services.
GOV.UK One Login is being designed and built for the many, not the few. It will unite services across government, revolutionising the way government departments interact digitally with users. Job description
As an Associate Programme Delivery Manager - One Login you will be part of the Digital Identity Programme Office team which works across the GOV.UK One Login programme. As part of this team and working alongside the central PMO team, you will be supported in your career development and have the opportunity to move laterally across GDS and widen your knowledge across multiple disciplines.
You will have a sound knowledge and experience of financial, procurement and resourcing practices, as well as an excellent understanding of operational delivery, organisational governance and management information reporting.
Your areas of responsibility will include:
* Improvement Support – Identifying, developing and sharing best practices on processes, tools and templates
* Providing support to Delivery Leads and Programme Office team members around finance and budget management, providing guidance and best practices
* Being a Programme Management Office Advocate – Act as advocate for functions across the business, including working with the central PMO team, promoting associated best practice within the business and the wider Cabinet Office
* Being knowledgeable and having experience working in programme/ portfolio environments with exposure to civil servant and contingent labour recruitment
* Gathering regular delivery and roadmap updates to inform regular public and internal programme updates
Person specification
We’re interested in people who have:
* knowledge and experience working in programme/ portfolio environments with exposure to governance and delivery (RAID Logs, Project/ Programme/ Portfolio Planning, Delivery Tracking & recruitment etc.)
* demonstrable experience in analysing management information; identifying patterns or themes and extracting the key data to provide valuable intelligence.
* demonstrable experience of driving effective decision-making using accurate and concise data whilst working in an agile and/or digital environment
* experience of collaboration and partnering in complex environments
* demonstrable experience in change and project management, encompassing agile approaches
* knowledge and experience of business management
