We are currently recruiting for a CAPEX Programme Manager to ensure the effective implementation and delivery of the Operational Capex element of the execution plan by driving the successful delivery of interventions to time, cost and quality. The role will ensure the planned level of benefits associated with TOTEX spends are being realised. This will involve proactively liaising across several directorates such as Asset Management, Engineering & Construction, Operations, and IT delivery streams to provide a clear view of any risk or opportunity to plan delivery.
Joining us in an exciting time to be part of our new investment, AMP8, the role offers you the opportunity to help us to improve environmental performance and identification of spending customers money in targeting the correct areas. Your programmes of work will be helping the environment where you will have the authority to manage the money we have approved spend in those areas that are crucial in creating a sustainable delivery of service to our customers. You will play a key role in driving down wastage, identifying competitive cost, looking at internal ways of working to enhance efficiency, asking the right question or challenge where necessary and consequently ensuring that we meet our environmental targets by successful delivery of projects and programme of works. Working with our Exec Board Members, you will be a confident collaborator with a commitment to achieve our long term aim.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
1. Demonstrated programme management experience of water and wastewater or infrastructure industries.
2. A strong understanding of company drivers, outputs and serviceability targets, the Water Industry regulatory framework and OFWAT’s business model.
3. Applied understanding and experience of industry success factors, regulatory and legal obligations and horizon scanning of upcoming challenges/opportunities.
4. Proven ability to hold others to account including senior management.
5. Demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
6. High level of attention to detail, with presentation and effective communication of findings and actionable insight proposals.
7. Evidence of clear communication to generate commitment to shared vision.
8. Collaborate across functions and departments in the best interest of the customer within company’s constraints.
9. Proven ability to meet timescales and ensure quality of output through effective organisation and prioritisation of tasks.
The above are not an exhaustive list, they are some of the key competencies and skills that we’d like you to bring to the role. If you have any other transferable skills, we welcome you to apply!
Being a strong programme manager, you will ideally have a degree in science, asset management, engineering or equivalent areas with APM or other project management leadership qualification.
Interested, why not apply!
Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit. Check our Blog for more information.
