We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a solid understanding of the live industry to join our busy team. Working alongside the agents and Finance Manager, the ideal candidate will be a confident negotiator who is detail focused with an adaptable approach, a nimble problem solver who can prioritise their workload to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The main focus of the role is to manage and oversee the contracting element of the agency booking process and provide legal guidance to the team and external business associates.
With the support of the Contracts Assistant, the role will include but is not limited to:
1. Reviewing Offer Letters for shows/festivals
2. Drafting, issuing and negotiating a high volume of contracts for domestic and international live performances to deadlines and ensuring full execution
3. Working with the team to ensure contracts move quickly and smoothly from creation to negotiation to execution.
4. Overseeing, managing and training the Contracts Assistant
5. Working closely with the Finance Manager on tax management for international shows
6. Insurance – overseeing insurance policies and working alongside FM and GM
7. Drafting, reviewing and issuing Terms of Business for new clients
8. Organizing and maintaining library of executed agreements
9. Providing oversight and development of the technical process by which contracts are created and saved
10. Reviewing and updating contract templates annually
11. Summarising rights and advising team of legal obligations in relation to client contracts
12. Assisting in the monitoring and development of internal systems and making best-practice recommendations
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
1. 3+ years experience in a contracting role within entertainment/media (preferably music)
2. A solid understanding of commercial/agency contracts
3. Confidence negotiating and working across complicated domestic and international contracts with small companies and large global corporations
4. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) & Adobe
5. Understanding of and experience in dealing with split contracts and international tax management (preferred)
6. Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with a team
7. Experience overseeing and training team members (preferred)
8. Exceptional organisation skills and proficiency in working to tight deadlines
9. Confident and calm under pressure
10. An active problem solver
11. A good understanding of how the live industry works and the key players involved
12. Pulse on changes in law which may impact the wider industry

Working Pattern
Full time: Office Hours, Monday to Friday : 9.30am – 5.30pm
5 days office-based is preferred, however, after a successful probation we are open to discussing a hybrid work pattern of 4 days office-based and 1 day working from home.
Part-time hours will be considered.
