Band 6 Theatre team leader responsible for delivering safe and effective clinical practice while managing and supporting a team of staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enhancing the patient’s experience with regular and constructive communication.
2. Managing and developing the performance of a team of theatre staff.
3. Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organization's objectives while ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
4. Promoting a clean and safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
5. Reporting incidents and near misses promptly and appropriately.
6. Managing a theatre area/client group to ensure all statutory standards and Trust procedures are implemented and always maintained.
7. Contributing to the planning of duty rotas and organizing annual leave to ensure continuity of care and safety for patients and staff.
8. Ensuring an effective and efficient patient journey by planning and coordinating the episode of care.
9. Acting as the advocate for the patient, ensuring safe and harm-free care is always uppermost in every decision.
10. Supporting the appraisal process by ensuring that personal development plans are developed.
11. Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment.
12. Supporting the learning and development of junior staff including supporting staff to achieve registration or revalidation.
13. Participating in recruitment and selection within own practice setting.
14. Participating in the management of sickness and absence within own practice area for a defined team.

To ensure safe and effective clinical practice, practice within an ethical framework based upon respect for the well-being and safety of patients and clients.
Lead a team and coordinate the theatre in the absence of the Clinical Specialty Manager, reinforcing the Trust values and standards leading to the delivery of clinically excellent care.
Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and protocols including health and safety, healthcare-associated infection prevention, clinical governance, risk management, and incident reporting.
Maintain and improve knowledge and expertise in current developments and future trends in relation to perioperative theatre practice and management.
Participate in the development of new innovative patient care techniques and ensure effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team.
Support the Clinical Specialty Manager in creating and maintaining a learning environment that ensures effective learning opportunities for staff and students.
Ensure a culture of continuous quality improvement using audit, patient feedback, and reflection on practice.
