Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Ipswich, Suffolk
Start Date: April 2025 (or sooner)
Salary: 23,000 – 24,500, Dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-time
A highly reputable and rapidly growing secondary school in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their permanent staff list from April 2025 or sooner. Key Responsibilities:
* Providing tailored support to students with a variety of learning needs, including but not limited to academic, social, and emotional support.
* Assisting teachers in the classroom by helping to plan, deliver, and evaluate lessons.
* Working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis with students who require additional support.
* Encouraging and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
* Supporting students in the development of their social and emotional skills, helping to improve their confidence and independence.
* Supporting students during school activities, including extra-curricular programs where necessary.
* Helping with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
Requirements:
* A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
* Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students in a positive and empathetic manner.
* Patience, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to a variety of learning styles and needs.
* A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
* A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team.
* An enhanced DBS check will be required.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or additional learning needs.
* Qualifications in Education, Childcare, or relevant fields would be an advantage but are not a requirement.
* First Aid training is a plus.
