Mechanical Supervisor - Doncaster
You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of mechanical installations and systems on-site at a large NHS facility in Doncaster. You will lead a team of technicians and subcontractors, ensuring all mechanical work is completed on time, to the highest safety and quality standards.
The Role:
Requiring a strong understanding of plumbing and pipework systems, planned and preventative work, this position needs an individual with exceptional leadership attributes with strong client-facing communication skills, working for this established business based in Doncaster.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervision of Mechanical Works: Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, and tank work.
2. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of plumbers, operatives, and subcontractors, ensuring high performance, safety, and quality standards.
3. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the project site adheres to all health and safety regulations, conducting regular site inspections, creating and monitoring risk assessments.
4. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of mechanical installations, ensuring all work is completed in accordance with the project's specifications, industry standards, and safety guidelines.
5. Project Coordination: Reporting to the Director of the business, working closely with the on-site mechanical team to ensure the smooth delivery of the project.
6. Material & Resource Management: Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment, ensuring resources are available when needed and the project runs smoothly.
7. Client Communication: Liaise with the client and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress and addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
8. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Resolve any mechanical issues on-site promptly, minimizing delays and ensuring continued progress on the project.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Valid CSCS card
2. SSSTS / SMSTS (essential) IOSH/NEBOSH (desirable)
3. Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor/Site Manager in the commercial or industrial sector (minimum of 5 years).
4. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including plumbing, pipefitting, and large water-based systems.
5. Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
6. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and experience implementing these on-site.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
8. Experience in supervising mechanical installations on large-scale commercial projects, preferably with NHS knowledge.
9. Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
10. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
