Quality Engineer in Tewkesbury, working 37.5 hours per week.

This Quality Engineer will report to the General Manager and be responsible for managing and providing Quality Engineering support to Operations and Quality departments.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Implementing and managing inspection and certification control plans.
* Supporting Project Management team with contract reviews.
* Leading APQP requirements, such as PPAP and FAIRs.
* Assisting with in-process production part approval through visual and dimensional inspection.
* Supporting final inspection of completed components or assemblies, including sign-off.
* Providing manufacturing support to production areas in relation to quality issues.
* Ensuring procedures are implemented or updated as necessary.
* Evaluating measurement systems.
* Actively supporting business with its QMS to maintain ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.
* Conducting internal audits of QMS processes.
* Performing shop floor product sample and process audits according to a recognised schedule.
* Managing and reporting on performance metrics.
* Handling all related non-conformance issues.
Key Competencies
We are seeking a candidate with:
* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role, ideally within an electronics-based product manufacturing environment.
* In-depth understanding of technical documentation, including Engineering drawings.
* Familiarity with Defence Standards.
* Knowledge of electronic/electrical components and cabling.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to produce clear and concise reports and documentation.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines consistently.
* Experience in implementing APQP requirements to meet customer expectations.
* Qualified and experienced quality auditor to ISO 9001.
* Knowledge of lean methodologies such as 5S and Poka Yoke.
* Experience with quality processes in the Defence industry.
* Previous experience or qualification in IPC-A-610/IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
* Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a simple and concise manner.
