Product Assurance Engineer required for a well-established, growing engineering organisation based near Aylesbury.
Job Title: Product Assurance Engineer
Location: Near Aylesbury
Salary: £50K p/a negotiable
Hours of Work: Full-time hybrid (3 days onsite)
An excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing, progressive, and successful engineering-based organisation as a Product Assurance Engineer. Reporting to the Head of Programmes, and working closely with Quality, Integrated Programme Teams, suppliers, and customers, you’ll be responsible for Product Assurance with the objective to identify and achieve the optimal solutions for customers and suppliers to ensure the safe and pragmatic progress of programme activities. This is a busy and challenging role offering a good career opportunity for the successful candidate. This role offers hybrid working (3 days onsite) and occasional European and US travel.
Skills & Experience required:
1. BSc/MSc degree in Engineering or Physical Science with 3+ years’ experience in Product Assurance, ideally within Aerospace engineering.
2. Working knowledge of the design and manufacture of components and systems within the aerospace sector.
3. Excellent people management skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all stakeholders; strong influencing and motivating abilities, to deliver projects against customer PA requirements.
4. Good written, interpersonal, and customer presentation skills.
5. Proactive, pragmatic approach, with the ability to work under own initiative.
6. Experience of working to ECSS standards would be advantageous.
7. Experience/working knowledge of EEE Components or Materials & Processes would be helpful.
8. Experience in a project-led design and development environment desirable.
9. Highly organised with good project/time management skills and an ability to deliver actions on time.
10. Experience in the implementation and/or management of Product and Service Quality Planning, Process Control Tools, Quality Systems, and Project Management.
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting and participating in key milestone reviews: EQSR, MPCB, PCB, PDR, CDR, MRR, TRR, CST, DRB, etc., in both supplier and customer-facing roles.
2. PA processes in line with company’s growth strategy.
3. Negotiating and managing the PA requirements for contracts.
4. Ensuring materials, etc., are procured in accordance with the contractual PA requirements.
5. PA supplier management.
6. Chair customer-facing Major Non-conformance review boards at project level and support teams in effective, pragmatic, and appropriate resolution of the issues.
7. Manage Non-conformance Reports and Request for Deviations/Waivers.
8. Generate and review End Item Data packs (EIDP).
9. Support mandatory inspection points (MIPS) and Key Inspection Points (KIPS) as required.
10. Raise and manage project level RFDs.
11. Expedite processing approvals of supplier EEE parts.
12. Regular reporting of quality issues.
13. Implement and maintain robust lessons learned process.
