Qualifications Required:
The Deputy Manager must be a registered Nurse with an active NMC Pin. A Registered Managers Award or an SVQ4 in Care and/or Management is advantageous. Applicants should have at least two years' experience at Charge Nurse level or above.
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of holistic person-centred care
2. Maintain and monitor high-quality clinical care for residents
3. Supervise junior staff and teach qualified and unqualified staff
4. Lead care provider for the Home, working with minimal supervision in assessing all relevant care needs
5. Supervise, promote, and deliver high standards of person-centred care for all residents
6. Assist the home manager and deputise in the overall management of the care home as required
7. Promote business values in day-to-day practice
8. Positively influence the reputation of the home by communicating professionally and warmly with visitors, including family, friends, and external stakeholders
9. Ensure compliance within the home by managing the implementation of company policies and regulatory requirements; striving for the best possible care rating and external recognition of quality
10. Maintain clinical excellence by role modelling high standards of care, ensuring legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines are followed
11. Take an active leadership role, being a visible leader in the home supporting the operation of a 24-hour Care Home
12. Develop staff by overseeing the induction of all new employees and participating in the training development of the team
13. Assist with employee appraisals, supervisions, and career pathways
14. People management, actively participating in the recruitment, assessment, and supervision of the team, supporting the manager in all aspects of employee relations
