We are seeking an applicant for a fully-funded ERC Research Assistant position with funding to undertake a PhD in non-linear PDEs led by Professor Pierre Raphael in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
Description of Research Area:
The position is advertised in connection with the ERC/UKRI advanced grant SWAT. Work will be focused on the turbulent part of the program and the construction of new solutions to the non-linear harmonic oscillator.
Responsibilities:
1. Undertake your own program of research and assist with ongoing research programmes associated with the ERC/UKRI program SWAT.
2. Write up results for publication.
3. Present your work to colleagues at conferences or seminars, both internally and externally.
4. Assist in organizing various seminars and study groups.
During the period of funding for this role, you will be eligible to complete your PhD studies.
Minimum Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in mathematics by the start date of the position and should have relevant background knowledge in arithmetic geometry.
