Job Title: CNC Machinist

Our client is a leading engineering and manufacturing specialist within Oil and Gas. They are seeking a talented and experienced CNC machinist with setting or operating experience to join the growing team.
Responsibilities
1. Operate one or more CNC machines in the Cell.
2. Conduct daily machine health checklists.
3. Handle travel bookings and documents in the Cell.
4. Stamp own work.
5. Report Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's).
6. Assist with other duties at the discretion of the Production Team Leader.
7. Maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
8. Participate in training when required.
9. Minimize the level of scrap components.
10. Mentor and support any new staff or apprentices within the Machine Shop.
11. Work with the Production Team Leader and Production Manager to establish key delivery dates/requirements.
12. Communicate workshop issues to the CNC Setter/Charge Hand and Production Team Leader.
Skills
1. GCSE's or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering qualifications preferably craft apprenticeship or equivalent.
2. Basic CNC programming and machine competence.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
5. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
6. Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret bar graphs.
7. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
8. Ability to solve problems involving several variables in standardised situations.
