We are recruiting to a Deputy Team Manager OT position within Intermediate Care at a London council, which is an integrated health and social care team including physiotherapists, social workers, occupational therapists, nurses, pharmacists, occupational therapy assistant practitioners and rehabilitation support workers who provide short term, targeted support to maximise a person's independence. The ICS Reablement focus includes optimising skills to support recovery. We work from a strength-based position to build on existing skills and resources. The service works alongside specialist care provision. The need for care is regularly reviewed within the period of Reablement. If, after the teams input, the person has ongoing care and support needs, an assessment is completed to determine eligibility for services. The role provides an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary setting, with a focus on strengths based practice and promoting independence and recovery. The main duties of the role includes providing leadership and supervisory and oversight to the service. This includes Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and any other clinical or non-professionally qualified colleagues. The post holder will do this through the provision of management, professional expertise, skills and advice to ensure we deliver high quality services within Adult Social Care. The post holder will be expected to carry a small caseload of complex cases, while also completing joint visits with staff as part of the role in supporting staff and also to optimise service delivery. The Deputy Team Managers will work with the Team Manager to deliver a safe, strength based service, promoting and improving independence, ensuring comprehensive person-centred assessments, reviews and interventions, supporting court work (where required) and ensuring residents are safeguarded, enabling choice and control regarding their accommodation, care and support needs. There is also a Safeguarding function within the service, which includes management oversight of safeguarding concerns and minimising risk to safety and wellbeing. The post holder will act as a role model and expert practitioner within the team. You will build on the team’s ethos of reflective practice, learning and development.
