Come and join us About the Role: Working within a systemic framework, you will provide group supervision and clinical support, helping carers develop the confidence and skills needed to care for children who have experienced trauma, abuse and loss. You will work closely with colleagues across care and safeguarding teams to ensure placements are stable and permanent, always focusing on improving outcomes for Southwark’s children while guiding and supporting foster carers and connected carers. In this role, you will: Supervise and support a group of foster carers, assessing their needs and providing tailored training and guidance. Collaborate with colleagues to assess and maintain placements, striving for stability and permanence for children. Mentor and coach less experienced social workers, contribute to training programs, and enhance the support system for special guardians and connected carers. About You: You are an experienced Senior Supervising Social Worker with a passion for improving the lives of children and supporting carers in our community. You thrive in leadership roles, mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues, such as ASYE social workers. You are committed to high standards and confident in challenging others when needed to achieve the best outcomes for children. You are skilled in assessing placements and developing effective plans that prioritise children’s long-term well-being. To succeed in this role, you will: Have experience in social work, particularly with children, foster carers and special guardians. Be skilled at managing complex cases and delivering targeted interventions that ensure positive outcomes. Have the ability to mentor and coach social workers and students, contributing to their professional growth.
