We're looking for an Operations Manager for Wensleydale's flagship production site at Hawes. This role will play a pivotal role in leading the production team, implementing process improvements and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products in a rapidly changing dynamic environment.
The ideal candidate will use their initiative to solve problems whilst leading their team with a hands-on approach to work. The position reports into the Site Director for Wensleydale and has 3 direct reports within production. The role is based in Hawes on a full-time basis.
YOU'LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY
1. Implementing and supporting cultural change across the site.
2. Driving optimal health and food safety systems and standards across the department.
3. Developing, delivering and supporting delivery of business improvement change initiatives.
4. Leading, defining and developing continuous improvement activities including utilizing lean events to improve performance.
5. Ensuring the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
6. Providing coaching and training to team members to develop a high-performance team culture.
7. Leading ongoing learning and development of all employees in lean environment tools and communication methods.
YOU'RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE
1. Experienced in a similar role within a manufacturing company (Food preferred but not essential).
2. Experienced in leading from the front with a hands-on approach.
3. Experienced in nurturing and growing talent and setting a culture of learning and development.
4. Conversant with a Balanced Score Card and KPIs to measure and drive team and individual performance.
