Biocair has locations in the UK in Cambridge, Heathrow and Edinburgh and this role is instrumental in delivering our people strategy and partnering with the business teams to deliver company objectives as well as being the trusted advisor, consultant and expert on local employment legislation and practice.
Reporting to the Global Head of People and partnering with the local Senior Managers, the main purpose of the role is to shape and influence positive people experience through supporting on the delivery of key strategic projects and People operational activities covering the entire employment lifecycle.
This role will be a trusted partner and consultant, demonstrating understanding of the functional and business realities, addressing complex people-related challenges, providing ideas, insights, flexible and innovative solutions, risk analyses, and challenge, to shape and inform longer term strategic and operational problem-solving. The role will partner with all people managers to guide and support using and instilling a coaching approach to leadership as well as working hand in hand with the Global People function.
Responsibilities will include:
* Taking accountability for specific People actions required in region and designated portfolio, reporting on progress and success measures.
* Supporting as needed the design and delivery of the people strategy in line with corporate objectives and that enhances employee motivation, development, and performance.
* Supporting the process and delivery of key projects, current examples include work force planning, learning & development, talent, and succession planning and corporate social responsibility.
* Maintaining and managing relationships with third party suppliers e.g., recruitment specialists, lawyers, and consultants.
* Leading the delivery of a full range of operational People activities, providing expert guidance and support, and building strong working relationships with managers to ensure they act fairly and consistently to achieve the best outcomes for the business.
* Developing a trusting, consultative relationship with managers, coach and advise on all aspects of people management and leadership.
* Partnering with, coach and guide management in topics including Performance, Talent and Succession Management, Workforce Planning, Organisational Design, Wellbeing and Engagement.
* Working with the Senior People Business Partner, EMEA and Head of People Operations to proactively develop, implement, and maintain People policies and processes that foster harmonious employee relations reinforcing and support our culture and values.
* Supporting the Talent Acquisition Team and managers to deliver the recruitment process successfully and ensure we can fill roles on a timely basis.
* Managing all Employee Relations matters for the relevant regions, adhering to legislation and in line with company values.
* Providing a visible and proactive People service to the business, acting as an internal go-to and sounding board on people-related topics for employees at all levels.
* Overseeing remuneration and employment benefits provision in region, working as needed with Reward, Payroll and local brokers on the set up and ongoing management of benefits as required.
* Supporting the salary review, bonus review and calibration process within and across teams.
* Supporting the company performance review process, ensuring objectives and development plans are agreed for all employees and updated throughout the year.
* Completing necessary annual submissions, audits, and legislative requirements for each relevant location.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
* Degree in relevant discipline and/or HR qualification or equivalent providing HR business partner support.
* Previous experience as a HR professional with generalist knowledge.
* Excellent employment law and UK statutory legislation knowledge and prior involvement in policy creation as well as the capability to learn employment law for other locations within the designated region and the ability to effectively interpret it to stakeholders.
* Strong ER experience including change processes (redundancy, TUPE) and handling complex Employee relations cases successfully.
* Significant change management and transformation experience.
* Experience in supporting reward processes (salary review, bonus’).
* Adept advisor with good coaching skills to provide consistently trusted advice and explore options and solutions.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
* Knowledge of French employment law is highly desirable.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30am to 17:30pm and the role is offered as hybrid with up to 3 days per week being spent at our Cambridge office in Sawston (CB22 3EG). The role is offered as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract starting in early January 2025.
