Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week We have two opportunities within our Management Accounts section for the post of Assistant Finance Manager within York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The vacancy is for our York site. You will be AAT qualified, or willing to study to achieve the AAT qualification. Experience of working within a management accounting environment is desirable, though training and support will be provided. This is an excellent development opportunity in this area and may requires a mix of home and office working. Working within our friendly and supportive team, our successful candidate will share in the responsibility of operational effectiveness of the Management Accounting function. Main duties of the job Duties will include: The production of accurate financial reports, in line with pre-arranged monthly reporting timetables Assisting the Finance Manager in providing training and support to budget holders Setting financial budgets Monitoring in year performance Preparing cost and variance analysis, and the early identification and management of potential problem areas. You will be self-motivated, used to providing high quality and accurate information and have strong communication skills. You will be computer literate, competent with Microsoft Excel, and experience of Oracle Financials would be an advantage. You will be able to meet tight reporting deadlines, plan your own workload, and produce accurate financial information under time pressure. You will be able to work as part of a team, and liaise with various staff disciplines throughout the Trust, and will therefore need to be confident explaining financial information to non-financial colleagues.
