You’re not just looking for a career, you’re looking to make a difference. Millions of people rely on us every day to help them live their lives, power their businesses, and keep their public services running. We connect friends to family, clients to colleagues, people to possibilities.
About this role
Our Support Technicians look after service in the Field – this means working on-site with our diverse range of customers, from small local businesses right up to large FTSE 100 corporate organisations. Some of our larger and complex customers have very specific needs from our teams and that’s what we’re here to serve. That could be anything from provision or repair, hardware, software or infrastructure.
As a Customer Support Technician, you will be working in the Field day-to-day and have direct exposure to our customers. Working on customer sites every day means you’ll need to be prepared to travel around. You will attend customer sites to help with installations where engineering support is required to set-up, install, and carry out non-complex and simple repairs.
You will also be able to confidently talk through ideas and problems a customer may have in connection to the BT portfolio. You will make sure customer services and solutions are set up and optimised, and you will also make recommendations on new digital product and service solutions.
This job is available in Business.
About the apprenticeship you’ll study for
This apprenticeship will last 18 months, and you’ll spend a minimum 20% of your working hours dedicated to learning and studying. You’ll also complete one “study day” a week. At the end of your hard work, you will gain a level 3 qualification in Information Communication.
Entry Requirements
You’ll need to achieve five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (a C or above), including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted. You’ll need to hold a full manual driving licence with no more than six points. If you do not hold a licence right now, you must ensure you have passed your test no later than one month before your start date.
Please note, due to the nature of the work we do, some of these roles may require security clearance. Don’t worry, the Early Careers recruitment team will explain this to you.
All applicants will need a full UK Right to Work for the duration (18 months) of their scheme.
