DataBoots is a start-up Consultancy that provides the skills, processes and tooling that enable the transformation of our clients data landscapes. We advise on and provide practical and pragmatic deliveries that serve as the stepping stones for our clients to take stock of, and improve, their Data Management processes - with specific history and experience doing so for Housing Associations.
As a start-up, our reputation is critical to ongoing business success. That starts with our clients success.
Initially, this role will involve building, maintaining and improving a Data Reconciliation SQL Server targeting two Housing Management Systems for a Housing Association client's data infrastructure - confirming record to record consistency, attribute consistency, and reporting on all inconsistent/inaccurate data records between these systems. Assuming success, additional systems will likely be added to this process, to ensure holistic stock taking of the client data systems.
Additionally, we want to ensure we can guide the client on transformation implementation more generally - identifying risks, issues and defects and establishing mitigations and roadmaps to tackle these challenges.
Responsibilities
* Alongside colleagues working on the Data Reconciliation piece, structure and build a Reconciliation Engine capable of flagging erroneous records between systems
* Structure reports that suit business needs - specifically those of the Data Quality and Data Migration services, and current status reports for the wider transformation programme
* Evaluate and prioritise Data Entities based on criticality and maturity - ensuring robust reporting exists for highest value/risk areas
* Alongside the Data Readiness Lead, advise the programme on priority concerns and actions against the scope of delivery
Must Have Skills
* Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and T-SQL experience
* Data Quality, Reconciliation or Validation experience - writing Data Quality Rules or Validating Data ETL/Changes
* Data Reporting experience
* Experience (and comfort) working with complex, evolving data processes and requirements
* A desire to learn, grow and adapt as our business maturity and client's data maturity improves
* An ability to prioritise and deliver incremental, valuable change
Desirable Skills
* Advanced MSSQL skills - Triggers, Jobs, Loops etc.
* Python - Native packages, Pandas & SQLAlchemy
* Parsing methodologies - utilising pypdf, openpyxl, python-docx etc
* Process Mapping/Documentation experience
* Start-up experience
DataBoots is looking for proactive, pragmatic, keen individuals who can advise on and learn best-practice data implementations - improving the way transformation is done, to ultimately develop frameworks that address and mitigate the challenges involved along the way. The successful candidate will need to be able to move at pace - even in struggling environments - to learn and progress their skills, their careers and their deliveries.
In order to cultivate an environment of best practice, we want to reward good work - regular salary reviews, bonuses for exceeding client expectations for deliveries or improving internal processes/tooling, and shares in the company - if the company thrives, you should too.
Package:
* £40,000-£75,000 depending on experience
* 6 month salary reviews
* Bonuses for high quality/quick deliverables
* Shares - a plan for which will be discussed at the 6 month review mark
* 22 days holiday + 8 bank holiday days
