The Team
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our commercial team in Birmingham, focusing on data privacy and technology. The team includes two partners, two senior associates, two associates, and a Professional Support Lawyer, with expertise in both private and public sector work.
The team regularly supports clients with data privacy advice and drafting, including advisory work and negotiating contracts. We also focus on technology contracts, contributing to the firm-wide technology sector.
The Role
As part of a high-performing national team, you will advise clients on a range of data privacy matters and technology contracts. Key activities include:
* Advising on data privacy compliance and formulating legal strategies;
* Advising on data sharing and processing arrangements;
* Drafting and negotiating technology agreements, including consultancy agreements and SaaS licenses;
* Handling contractual work and reviewing technology supplier terms;
* Assisting national corporate teams with data protection due diligence;
* Researching and publishing articles, and giving webinars on topical issues;
* Building and maintaining client relationships and participating in business development;
* Ensuring compliance with Lexcel procedures;
* Participating in marketing initiatives.
What you will need
We require:
* Qualified solicitor or equivalent with 6 years or more PQE in data privacy and technology matters;
* Excellent technical skills and innovative application;
* Proven ability to manage and progress matters independently;
* Strong client focus and service delivery.
