As the largest Cellular Pathology department in the country, we're looking for talented people to join our diverse teams on our Wythenshawe Hospital and Oxford Road Campus sites, where you'll have the opportunity to work cross-site, offering exposure to specialist training and experiences for example, in Electron Microscopy, Ophthalmic Histopathology Annex 21 pay scale: Duration Salary Payable (i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75% of the top of the band (ii) more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70% of the top of the band (iii) more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65% of the top of the band (iv) more than three years from completion of training: 60% of the top of the band Main duties of the job We support and encourage our Specialist Biomedical Scientists to undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, which could be internal talks and seminars, as well as attending approved courses. We also have a dedicated Training Lead, supporting the Directorate strategy for training, as well as training officers within each department. The department has full HCPC training status for pre and post registration IBMS portfolios, and full ISO 15189 accreditation. Our laboratories have begun the implementation of SMART automation with the installation of the Sakura Tissue-Tek AutoTEC A120 automated embedding systems and Sakura Tissue-Tek Xpress X120, due for installation in 2023. This will ensure that we're at the forefront of investing in new technologies to deliver and improve patient care.
