KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow and interpret technical drawings to allow accurate fabrication of
products in accordance with clients’ requirements.
2. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on
requirements.
3. Set up components for Fabrication according to specifications and/or relevant
procedures, drawings etc.
4. Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
5. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in
various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
6. Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
7. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
8. Inspect and ensure all work is completed to a high standard and is in line with
Company procedures.
9. Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective
clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.).
10. Take responsibility for mandatory Personal Protection Equipment, to be worn
at all times.
11. Ensure that sufficient training has been completed for the safe use of all
factory equipment.
12. Report and assist in solving any daily problems.
13. Discuss problems/issues with your supervisor and/or chargehands in the first
instance.
14. Ensure general housekeeping is carried out to maintain a clean, tidy and
organised section.
15. Take reasonable instructions from other Heads of Departments or Directors.
16. Comply will all current and future Company HR, H&S, Quality and
Environmental systems, policies and procedures.
