We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounts Preparation Assistant to join a well-established accountancy and business advisory firm based in Shepperton, Surrey. This is a fully office-based role, ideal for someone who is developing their accounting career and keen to gain hands-on experience in preparing accounts and supporting a diverse client portfolio.
Position Details:
* Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
* Location: Shepperton, Surrey, with occasional travel to the West Horsley branch
* Salary: £30,000 – £34,000 (dependent on experience)
Location & Transport Note
While Shepperton is not in a rural area, public transport options may be limited. Having a valid driving licence and access to a car would be highly beneficial, particularly for visits to the West Horsley branch.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing statutory accounts and financial statements for a variety of clients
* Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and VAT returns
* Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
* Communicate with clients to gather financial information, clarify queries, and ensure timely reporting
* Contribute to process improvements, adopting new technologies that enhance efficiency and accuracy
The Ideal Candidate:
* Qualifications: Studying towards or holding AAT Level 3/4, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications
* Experience: Some prior experience in accounts preparation within an accountancy practice environment is beneficial
* Tech Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (Xero, Sage) and strong MS Excel skills
* Communication & Organisation: Excellent communication, organisational abilities, and a keen eye for detail
* Professional Development: A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and support colleagues
* Driving Licence: A valid driving licence and access to a car is highly beneficial due to limited public transport options
