Our client, an award winning rotating equipment repairs workshop, is seeking a Workshop Supervisor for their electrical repairs division. You will report into the Workshop Manager and overseeing a team of workshop electrical fitters and other personnel The role is to repair rotating equipment on the electrical side including the repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes, generators and other rotating equipment, other duties will include: - Supervise and provide technical support to workshop operatives – on the bench and clocking on time Dismantle and inspected work and make sure they haven’t missed anything Testing the motors Repairing motors, all rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, generators, mainly repairing Ensure that you keep on top of jobs coming into the workshop and ensuring that the team do too, and providing an excellent customer service from start to finish Progressing jobs through the workshop Check what work is required and order parts Cover for the workshop manager to price up jobs whilst he is on annual leave Ensure parts are ordered Once the parts are in (multiple parts) then allocate team members to put parts together, you will then test the work and ensure its all correct before sending it out to customers Ensure that the correct workshop procedures are being carried out on shop floor. Allocate jobs to operatives and monitor progress including job times in line with quotation; work with the Purchasing Clerk to ensure jobs are progressed when parts are received. Monitor and inspect all jobs in progress at key stages and prior to delivery; ensure all findings are adequately recorded. Ensure all training records for operatives are maintained. Deputise for Workshop Manager when required and take responsibility for all workshop activity. Manage calibration of measuring equipment Attend site to Site: attend site to cost or carry out site work as deemed fit by workshop workload. Call out – join the call out team handling calls out of hours. To apply you will have: Workshop electrical fitter and must have worked across a range of motors including AC & DC machines. Experience of repairing rotating equipment from an electrical bias, including motors, pumps, gearboxes, and generators The right to work in the UK permanently as sponsorship is not provided Located in the Greater Manchester/North West of England area or relocating Ideally some supervisory, management, team leader or senior experience Full clean driving licence The ability to cover shifts on a rota basis What’s on offer: On call work is required, with additional pay for on call Free parking OTE around £55,000 (in overtime, time, and a half and double pay) Career progressio
