This is an exciting time for a Pharmacy Technician to join University Hospitals Plymouth within our aseptic services department.
We provide cytotoxic chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, and parenteral nutrition in-house. We are currently planning for an offsite aseptic unit which will offer opportunities for the future.
We are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician who would like the opportunity to develop their leadership and management skills in an innovative department. Further study will be encouraged for you to progress your pharmacy career.
These posts are suitable for those registered technicians who already have accredited checking and Pre and In-process checking (PIPC) qualifications. We also welcome applications from newly qualified registered technicians and community pharmacy technicians without these qualifications who would like to work towards a band 5 post and achieve the qualifications.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Responsibilities include:
1. Co-ordinating and prioritising the daily production workload taking into account clinical priority.
2. Undertaking technical duties in the preparation of pharmaceuticals within the Pharmacy Aseptic Unit, ensuring all products are prepared following quality guidelines to ensure patients receive products that are safe to use.
3. Supervising the work of Assistant Technical Officers, Senior Assistant Technical Officers, Specialist Technical Officers, and students in conjunction with the Senior Specialist Technicians.
