Job summary We are currently seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join our team 18 hours per week at Camberley Health Centre. As a Healthcare Assistant with us, you will play a key role. This role will include working under supervision, assisting, and supporting the Nurse team in delivering a high-quality healthcare service to every patient. You will have excellent communication skills and will understand the importance of communicating tailored advice and support. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities and Duties: NHS health checks Phlebotomy Blood Pressure & Pulse Monitoring Urinalysis Requesting pathology tests: eg urine culture ECG recording 24 hour BP & 24 hour ECG Monitoring Clip and Sucture removal Diabetic Foot Checks INR Monitoring Clinics Give flu vaccinations and B12 injections upon completion of accredited course Assist GP with coil clinic Act as Chaperone when required Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately. Accurately measure and record clinical measurements such as height, weight and waist measurements Administration tasks Ensure timely and accurate recording of clinical information and patient interventions on relevant electronic database systems (e.g. EMIS) and following business continuity plans if the electronic system is unavailable Communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background and preferred ways of communicating. Provide and communicate relevant health promotion literature and lifestyle advice to patients Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked and prepared for each session Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with IPC policy Work as an effective and responsible team member, supporting others and exploring mechanisms to develop new ways of working.
