The Risk and Compliance team at Oxford Policy Management is currently seeking a Head of Risk and Compliance on a Permanent basis The position will be located at our Oxford Office We are an international development consultancy working to improve lives through sustainable policy change in low- and middle-income countries. The position of Head of Risk and Compliance is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining risk and compliance systems for OPM, ensuring legal and client requirements are met and to advise and support the Board and the SMT to enhance organizational performance in risk and compliance. You will be working as part of an interdisciplinary team across our global network. You will also be working with people from all parts of the business up to and including the Board. As a Head of Risk and Compliance at OPM you will: Manage the risk and compliance function including: Develop and manage enterprise risk management framework Maintain, monitor, and update corporate risk register and update key risk indicators Support others in maintaining, monitoring and updating their risk registers and compliance checklists Oversee supplier due diligence framework Oversee Internal Audit including: Supplier management of internal audit service provider. Support internal audit function and coordinate teams Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit recommendations and compliance violations Policy Management including: Maintain and manage policy register and framework Support development of company policies across all entities Safeguarding Lead including: Direct policy and define corporate safeguarding processes Act as OPM representative and liaison with external bodies and internal stakeholders Co- ordinate investigations including: Whistleblowing hotline oversight Co-ordinate and conduct internal investigations Critical Incident Management support and co-ordination Training and Reporting including: Providing training on risk management and compliance matters as necessary Ensure continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards Provide regular reports to Senior Management and the Board on areas of responsibility Carry out external Compliance reporting Graduate with 8 years’ work experience of risk management and the support of continuous organizational improvement. Risk Management qualification, or equivalent, by a recognized provider. Experience of: introducing robust processes to private businesses including those around compliance and risk designing and adapting business processes to comply with legal and client requirements with a proportionate and business friendly design Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with people at all levels of the business and effective professional liaison with external contacts. High standard of both spoken and written English, with particular emphasis on oral communication skills, with strong influencing and presenting skills. Good organizational skills. Pragmatic and solution-oriented, the candidate must have the ability to move between big picture and detail. Desired qualifications/experience: Experience of business process re-engineering and designing management processes. Exposure to working internationally and has an appreciation of local contextual requirements.
