Job overview
An exciting opportunity has opened up to develop in-depth experience of managing the deployment of medical staffing to support the correct functions across the Paediatric, Neonatal, Obstetric and Gynaecology Services.
The post holder will provide the necessary support to the Directorate Management Team to help ensure an effective service will be provided to the clinical teams. This position can be demanding and will require attention to detail and the ability to communicate with internal/external bodies at all levels. You will be supporting the Directorate Management Team and will play a key part in the delivery of safe clinical services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all medical rotas are coordinated effectively for the designated specialty, deploying junior medical staff as required to maintain service cover. Specifically:
1. Supporting medical job planning, rota design and workforce planning.
2. Supporting improved productivity for the directorate.
3. Responsible for the administrative induction of new and temporary clinical staff.
4. Responsible for compiling and maintaining an up-to-date specialty induction pack.
5. Coordinating the attendance of junior medical staff (recording of absence and documentation of return-to-work interviews).
6. Maintaining compliant and efficient medical rotas for all levels of medical staff in the designated specialty.
7. Facilitation of rota monitoring.
8. Responsible for the coordination of leave for all medical staff in the designated specialty.
9. Coordinating and administrating junior doctor induction days.
10. Coordinating and assisting in the recruitment of junior medical staff.

Qualifications
* Educated to A level or relevant experience
* ECDL or equivalent qualification or experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office packages, particularly management of spreadsheets in Excel.
* Evidence of ongoing personal / professional development
Experience
* Experience of dealing with Medical Staff at all levels
* Experience of working in a pressured and unpredictable environment.
* Previous experience within a rota coordinator post in the NHS or similar
* Experience of organising and prioritising work for self and directing others to do the same
* Experience of negotiating rates with agencies and doctors.
