Nottingham University Hospitals Pharmacy department has an exciting opportunity within our Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) directorate at the Queens Medical Centre for one Pharmacy Medicines management technician (MMT) to join our team.
Our UEC directorate consists of the Emergency Department, Acute Admissions Unit and AMRA, Level 1 Unit and the Same day emergency care (SDEC) unit.
Our acute medicine admissions unit is one of the largest in the country and has a large clinical pharmacy team consisting of Medical admissions specialist clinical pharmacists, MMTs and MMA’s that deliver an excellent 7-day service

Providing support to the specialist clinical pharmacists and contributing to enhancing the patients’ experience through the provision of a professional and effective medicines management service in the UEC directorate
Medicines reconciliation and facilitating a smooth transfer of medication related issues across the interface at admission, discharge and transfer
Managing medications at ward level, checking and assessing patients’ own medication on admission and at discharge, collating medicine information for accurate medicine reconciliation, patient counselling, dispensing and self-checking of pre-labelled medication at discharge
Management and review of stock along with data collection and analysis ensuring that cost effectiveness, efficiency and safety is maximised at all times
Involvement in ward and department projects, clinical audits/data collection, staff management and liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

The pharmacy department operates a 7 day shifted working model which will include weekends and Bank Holidays.
