IT Support Engineer. My client is a family run, growing company which provides monitoring services for alarm, lone worker and CCTV systems throughout the UK & ROI. Established in 1987, we are a leading UK & ROI independent alarm monitoring centre offering premium monitoring services for installers and by extension their end users.
The successful candidate will be part of a small IT support team with responsibility for maintaining, supporting, and developing the organisations diverse IT systems from user support through to system infrastructure and cyber security. You will be tasked with resolving technical issues collaborating with customers and team members across all departments to support their technical infrastructure. You will need to be self-driven, highly motivated and keen interest in all aspects of IT and technology. Have a good understanding of monitoring and maintaining a healthy system environment acting as an advocate to ensure IT best practice is implemented across the organisation.
Position Overview:
1. Serve as the first point of contact for users seeking technical assistance, including customers and installers.
2. Install and configure computer systems and hardware
3. Provide ongoing support across the business infrastructure, Servers, Switches Firewalls to ensure system uptime
4. Participate in technical discussion with all departments to drive and improve system efficiency
5. Working with IT lead plan and undertake schedule maintenance and upgrade as required.
6. Create and manage user accounts across all applications and provide support and assistance for log on issues.
7. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across all areas of the business
8. Maintain and manage software and hardware assets
9. Undertake technical project work as part of continuous system improvements
10. Other reasonable duties as requested by Management. This may include maintenance duties
Position Requirements:
11. Strong technical Knowledge across all areas of IT and Systems
12. HNC or Degree in associated IT discipline or equivalent experience
13. Analytical critical thinking skills
14. Effective communication and collaboration skills
15. Active Directory and Group Policy – Desirable
16. Hyper V / VMware – Desirable
17. Knowledge or Experience within the Alarm Receiving Centre industry – Desirable
18. Cisco Meraki – Desirable
19. Microsoft 0365 – Desirable
20. Fortigate Firewalls – Desirable
21. Industry standards required all successful applicants will be vetted to BS7858 which include, police check, financial check and 5-year work history
22. Full UK driving license and access to a car.
23. On Call nights and weekend on three weekly rotation
Position Remuneration
24. Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm (4:30pm finish on a Friday)
25. Salary £23,000 – 27,000 DOE
26. 20 days holiday + bank holidays
27. On call on weekends – OTE
