To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team.
Duties can include, but are not limited to, the processing of information, electronic and hard copy, in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service, ERS.
Main duties of the job
* To provide an efficient typing and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
* To assist practice management with clerical and administrative duties.
* Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
* Managing all enquiries in an effective manner.
* Processing referrals using the electronic referral system ERS.
* Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the caller's request appropriately.
* To liaise and arrange meetings as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
* File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
* To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
* To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
* To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
* To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
* To maintain the practice email account, actioning all incoming emails.
* Any other tasks allocated by practice management.
About us
The Calverton Practice is a long-established dispensing GP Practice covering Calverton and the surrounding villages with a list size of approximately 10,000. We have a team of 6 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs and as a training practice host both GP registrars and medical students. Our nursing team currently consists of 4 nurses, a paramedic and 3 HCAs who are supported by staff from across our local PCN including pharmacists, physiotherapists, and mental health OTs. We also have a large, supportive administration/managerial team. As well as working in a great team, a recent extension and refurbishment programme provides an excellent environment in which to work.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
* Keyboard, typing and word processing skills.
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above).
