Job summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the Mortuary and Bereavement Services Team in BCUHB. The position provides important support to a busy department and is both challenging and rewarding. Based at the Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor you will be responsible for providing the bereavement service. This advert is for a part time position to work Monday and Tuesday 08:00-16:00. Main duties of the job The post holder is responsible for assisting in the provision of the Mortuary and Bereavement Services. This service includes liaising compassionately and professionally with families and patient representatives together with BCUHB staff to ensure that Medical Certificates of the Cause of Death are issued by the hospital. The post holder will also be responsible for liaising with the Medical Examiner service and the HM Corner service and providing a service to pregnancy loss remains. The post will entail facilitating family and coroner viewings, on occasions overseeing the mortuary body stores and disposal of pregnancy loss remains, providing support to the service across the health board sites. The post holder will be expected to participate in an on-call rota. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
