Technical Lead - Electrical Systems
Location: Bristol - Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days On-Site Per Week)
Working Pattern: Full Time
Are you ready to lead the technical strategy behind one of the most exciting defence programmes in the world? As a Technical Lead - Electrical Systems, you'll play a critical role in delivering engineering excellence for the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).
Working directly with the Chief Project Engineer, you'll guide and coach engineering teams across multiple sites and disciplines, driving innovation while balancing performance, risk, cost, and time. This is a strategic, technical leadership role without line management responsibilities, focused on enabling delivery through expert guidance and risk-informed decision-making.

What You Will Be Doing
As a Technical Lead - Electrical Systems, you will define and execute the technical strategy and risk management approach for the electrical systems within GCAP. You will coach and support a team of engineers to ensure robust, right-first-time delivery aligned with programme requirements.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Chief Engineer and Whole Engine Design team to ensure divisional compliance with safety and environmental policies.
* Managing engineering priorities, tasks, and budgets to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
* Acting as a key technical interface with internal and external stakeholders to translate requirements into engineering objectives.
* Driving integration of engineering loads and deliverables into divisional and group Integrated Master Schedules.
* Providing technical coaching and direction to engineers across multiple locations, supporting their development and delivery.

* A BEng (or equivalent) in Engineering and relevant professional qualification.
* Strong, up-to-date expertise in electrical systems and technical programme delivery.
* Proven experience delivering engineering strategy and managing technical risk.
* A collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and coach teams across diverse functions.
* Experience in a defence or aerospace engineering environment.
