Credit Controller Annual Salary: £28,574 - £33,616 Location: Cramlington Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Friday 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (35.5 hours per week) Start Date: ASAP (Current employee leaving in April) Reed is supporting a brilliant business in the Cramlington area, looking for a Credit Controller to join their team and play a crucial role in managing their financial interactions with customers. Day-to-day of the role: Monitoring and Managing Customer Accounts: Regularly review customer accounts to identify overdue payments and proactively contact customers regarding outstanding invoices. Collections Activities: Contact customers via phone, email, and letter to chase overdue payments, negotiate payment plans where necessary, and escalate problematic accounts to senior management. Query Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer queries related to invoices, payments, and account balances, providing prompt and accurate information. Credit Risk Assessment: Assist with the assessment of new and existing customer creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and recommending appropriate credit terms. Reporting: Prepare regular reports on outstanding debts, collection activities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to credit control. Maintaining Accurate Records: Ensure that all customer account information and payment records are accurate and up-to-date in the company's systems. Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to ensure smooth communication and efficient resolution of customer issues. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes and procedures. Adherence to Company Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures related to credit control and financial management. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in credit control or a similar financial role. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office.
