Charges Analyst
Location: Durrington, West Sussex (Hybrid – 2 days in office)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £33,800

About the Role:
We are seeking a Charges Analyst to support the calculation and publication of primary wholesale and retail regulatory charges, as well as non-primary charges in alignment with Ofwat’s charging principles. You will play a key role in shaping our charging strategy and ensuring compliance with regulatory price control guidance and legislation.
Working alongside the Charges and Revenue Manager, you will:
1. Ensure compliance with price control frameworks and maximise revenue recovery while maintaining cost reflectivity.
2. Develop insightful analysis that informs our charging policy and tariff structures.
3. Support the application of robust cost modelling and process controls to assure published charges.

Key Responsibilities:
4. Tariff Setting & Revenue Analysis – Assist in setting tariffs and conducting revenue analysis to comply with price controls, optimise revenues, and send appropriate price signals to customers.
5. Charging Policy Development – Develop analysis that informs our charging strategy and tariff development.
6. Cost Modelling & Assurance – Ensure tariffs are underpinned by robust cost modelling to demonstrate cost reflectivity.
Skills & Competencies:
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
9. Ability to translate complex numerical data into clear, concise insights for a non-financial audience.
Qualifications & Experience:
10. Degree in a numerate subject or an accounting qualification (or equivalent experience in a related role).
11. Experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, or commercial analysis.
