Bank Domestic Abuse Support Worker Location: Brindley Place, Birmingham Job Location: Working across Birmingham and Walsall Salary - £12.05 per hour Contract type - Bank Working hours - Bank About the Service Our Domestic Abuse safe accommodation services provide emergency, short-term accommodation, refuge and dispersed provision for victims of domestic abuse. We deliver a trauma informed service, providing wrap around support which helps to recover and resettle. About the role To provide support to individuals and families within our Domestic abuse accommodation services in Birmingham and Walsall. We support families with housing, welfare benefits, mental health, education, and training opportunities. Staff work with clients to prioritise key work tasks and activities on a one-to-one basis and as a group. Staff also offer advice and information to empower and equip clients to live independently, within a safe and stable environment free from violence and abuse. Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer. About you Be able to communicate effectively with clients, over the phone and face to face, including supporting their children To be empathetic, patient and demonstrate listening skills To have knowledge of domestic abuse and how to support victims To work with external agencies, police, social care, schools and the court to support victims. Be able to use IT packages and data bases to report and record Understanding of safeguarding Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require evidence of the required certificates and qualifications for this role.
