Transport & Logistics Planner
£36,940 plus bonus
Monday - Friday 8am to 5pm
Working closely with existing Transport subcontracts and bringing new subcontractors into the business, this role will be pivotal for enabling the business to continue to grow from strength to strength. You will work closely with existing customers and subcontractors while also bringing on new customers and subcontractors. You will need to demonstrate an excellent background in European subcontracting and possess the knowledge required to import and export goods.
As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
1. Ensuring loads are correctly exported/imported (know what codes/paperwork is required)
2. Maintaining relationships with existing Haulier partners/customers
3. Regularly reviewing performance
4. Bringing on new customers/Hauliers subcontractors into the business
5. Resource/allocate loads on a daily basis achieving the best possible margin
6. Ensuring deliveries are scheduled on time and in line with customer expectations
7. Monitoring delivery performance and notifying customers of any delays
8. Working to set targets in line with operational KPI's
9. Ensuring all information is accurate and up to date within TMS
Ideally, you will:
1. Have a background working within Transport (Essential)
2. Have a strong relationship with existing subcontractors (Desirable)
3. Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
4. Be happy to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Possess knowledge of procedures for export/import
6. Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
7. Be able to develop and build relationships with existing and new customers
8. Have a good understanding of current market rates
9. Possess a good understanding of all required customs documents
10. Be focused and target driven
