Assistant Quantity Surveyor - (Closing date - 31/10/2024)

Overall Objectives:
Assist the Quantity Surveyor in all relevant commercial and contractual activities associated with schemes and projects.
Key Accountabilities:
* Assist with contract administration of sub-contracts
* Help ensure the timely and accurate assessment and payment of sub-contractor’s applications and issue payment notifications to sub-contractors
* Support the preparation of interim valuations and final accounts
* Provide measurement of quantities both on site and from drawings, where required
* Timely and accurate evaluation of variations/provisional sum expenditure and monitoring of the same
* Civils Monitor weekly direct labour & plant subcontractor payments
* Assist with cost management
* Assist with internal valuations, sub-contract liabilities and cost value reconciliations
* Work closely with Site Managers to monitor progress and its effect on margin and program
* Ensure good quality, accurate records are submitted and maintained on shared drive and Viewpoint
* Delay identification/notification in tandem with Quantity Surveying line manager
* Provide support and guidance to Trainee Quantity Surveyor as required
* Build relationships with supply chain, colleagues, client & design team
* Act as part of a team to deliver activities that support operational objectives

General responsibilities:

Key Measures & Targets:
* Accurate monthly forecasting
* Maintaining deadlines in line with monthly commercial calendar
* Awareness delay/disruption and loss/expense identification
Qualifications & Experience:
* 5 GCSE (Grade A-C or 4-9) or equivalent including Maths and English
* HNC or equivalent - essential
* Working knowledge of contract conditions such as NEC, JCT - desirable
* Valid Driving Licence
