A bit about what you will do...
Chief Engineers in our luxurious hotel lead from the front and take a proactive, hands-on approach, overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations, ensuring excellent standards are maintained, creating a welcoming and safe environment that consistently exceeds guests' expectations.
1. Lead and coordinate the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
2. Prepare and monitor the annual departmental operating budget, with a focus on energy management, preventive maintenance, and capital planning.
3. Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget.
4. Manage Health & Safety, including statutory compliance, risk assessment, permits to work, and safe working practices.
5. Address any guest concerns promptly, attentively, and efficiently.
6. Liaise closely with other hotel departments and the wider management team to support the continual improvement of property maintenance standards.
7. Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and supporting green initiatives.
8. Act as property leader for the brand's Green Engage program.
9. Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards while continually looking to improve.
10. Perform Duty Manager shifts as required.

8. Ability to use initiative in challenging situations and under pressure.
9. A smart and professional appearance.
10. Proven track record in a similar position within a 5-star hotel.
11. Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
12. Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
13. Strong knowledge of the operation, control, and maintenance of building services plant and systems.
14. Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
15. Excellent standard of English, both written and spoken.
