A bit about what you will do...
Assistant Chief Engineers in our luxurious hotel take a proactive, hands-on approach, assisting in overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations to ensure excellent standards are maintained, and to create a welcoming and safe environment that consistently exceeds guests' expectations.
* Lead and manage the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
* Coordinate the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
* Manage the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses, forecasting future needs, and optimising resource allocation.
* Oversee hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion within budget.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
* Collaborate with other departments to support the overall operation of the hotel and address maintenance-related issues.
* Maintain and order parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives.
* Address guest concerns promptly, attentively and efficiently.
* Coach, train, and support the team to provide consistently high standards while continually seeking improvement.

* Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing a team.

* Proven track record in a similar position within a 5-star hotel.
* Recognised electrical or engineering qualification and specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields.
* Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
* Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent standard of English, both written and spoken.
