An opportunity has arisen for an internal technical sales person. Suitable candidates with relevant industry experience and electrical qualifications should apply.
Working alongside other members of the team, you will provide telephone mainly reactive sales support to inbound customer sales enquiries, as well as proactive contact to build relationships and further develop sales. Assisting with product and application queries, cross referencing parts, and offering alternative solutions to problems as your skills and abilities develop. As part of the small internal sales team, you will be required to carry out a variety of duties involved in the sales process in a branch environment, so previous experience in a commercial sales environment and good administrative skills are essential. Understanding of a Sales Order Processing system and Microsoft packages will be required in the role, so any existing knowledge of these would be beneficial. An advantage, but not essential, would be experience in a component sales business or distributor or wholesaler environment, especially in the electrical or electronic product area.
Full induction and product training will be provided, along with career development training as required for the right candidate to progress. In order to have a reasonable commute, you are likely to live in Leicestershire or possibly Coventry, Nuneaton, Rugby, Crick areas.
Duties would include:
* Dealing with customer orders and enquiries over the telephone, fax and post, checking prices, discounts and stock availability.
* Ensure that all sales and purchase orders are complete and accurate before entry onto the system.
* Demonstrate sufficient commercial awareness to negotiate prices, depending on the customer status, ownership and type of product; thereby maximising the margin achieved on the transaction.
* Provide electrical expertise in the selection of technology-based products within their area of competence utilising the support infrastructure.
* Drive an ongoing personal development plan for their own technical advancement.
* Progress any outstanding customer orders on suppliers or via central purchasing.
* Check and tie up confirmation orders and advise customers of any discrepancies.
* Source and price non-stocked items to satisfy customer requirements.
* Assist in Telesales / Pro-active telephone sales activities.
* Cross referencing and switch selling of products to maximise profitability.
* Liaise with Sales Engineers and other product departments.
* Operate in accordance with Quality Assurance and Health & Safety directives.
Qualifications / education required:
Ideal would be an ONC Electrical Engineering or BTEC level 3. Good standard of general education particularly in English and Maths.
Specialist training required:
Relevant product knowledge.
Drive and desire to succeed; can-do attitude. Excellent telephone manner and communication skills. Good keyboard skills with attention to detail. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Ability to use Microsoft Office packages.
